Submission Criteria

Please Touch Museum’s Book Award is given annually to two books that are imaginative, exceptionally illustrated, and help to foster a child’s life-long love of reading.  Each year, the museum selects a winner in two age categories: Ages 3 and under, and Ages 4 to 7.  These age categories reflect the age of the children Please Touch Museum serves.

Before submitting your book(s) for consideration, please ensure that it fulfills the following terms and criteria:

• Books must be distinguished in text, illustration, and ability to explore and clarify an idea for young children (ages 7 and under).
• Books must be published between September 1 and August 31 of the preceding year by an American publisher
• Books must be written by an American author
• Books must be age appropriate
• All submitted books become property of Please Touch Museum upon submission and will NOT be returned
• The submitter or publisher must provide contact information for a representative of their organization who can be contacted by Please Touch Museum
• Entries must be received by October 31
